What We Believe

CORNERSTONE

Wesleyan Nazarene Church

Rooted in Scripture. Shaped by grace. Lived in community.

Our Faith

Cornerstone Wesleyan Nazarene Church holds to the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture and expressed through the Wesleyan Nazarene tradition. Our beliefs guide our worship, shape our teaching, and inform how we live and serve.

The doctrines and beliefs of the Cornerstone Wesleyan Nazarene Church fully embrace those truths emphasized in the Holy Scriptures and the great universal church creeds such as the Nicene Creed and the Apostle’s Creed.

Wesleyan-Arminian in Theology

We Believe:

  • that in God’s sovereignty, He has ordained human responsibility in responding to His call, and that through prevenient grace He assures all people of His help in answering the divine call to reconciliation with God.

  • that reconciliation is accomplished by faith alone, and that through genuine belief the sinner is transferred from the kingdom of Satan into the kingdom of God.

  • that the heart, corrupt by nature and sinful from conception, can be cleansed from all sin and unrighteousness, and that thereafter it is the solemn duty of the Christian to pursue the perfection of holiness in the fear of God until the Lord returns or calls us home.

We love all people, regardless of background, race, social status, or identity, and our love compels us to pray for the salvation of all.

We reject what God condemns and, in faithfulness and love, warn that those who refuse to allow God to separate them from their sin will, on the solemn day of judgment, remain permanently joined to their sin and experience eternal separation from God.

Ambassadors

As ambassadors of the Holy Trinity, we join in God’s work by calling all people to repent of sin and to turn to serve the living God, who will one day judge the living and the dead.
